With John, you will find a coach who listens well, has a wealth of experience & provided me with actionable steps to improve immediately. I would highly recommend John to anyone. Gillian Mullen, Learning & Development Adviser, Malcolm’s Logistics.
Prior to becoming a professional coach I was fortunate to have an incredible 30-year career in the Fire & Rescue Service. It all began in East Kilbride Fire Station, I worked throughout Lanarkshire and Glasgow and ultimately achieved the rank of Assistant Chief Fire Officer of one of the largest fire services in the country where I held the positions of Executive Director of Emergency Response, Human Resources and Community Safety. I also received national and international recognition for my work with the 'World Rescue Organisation' which took me around the world helping to develop rescue skills with colleagues as far afield as South Africa, Australia and Canada. As a qualified lecturer, I also deliver leadership and management qualifications on behalf of New College Lanarkshire and West Lothian College.
The role of the voluntary sector in our society is important to me and my own personal contribution includes being a non-executive director of a national ‘Child Safety’ charity, a member of Scotland's Children's Panel system and 'Chair' of East Kilbride’s Citizens Advice Bureau. I recognised that I love helping people and thought to combine my professional experience with coaching and so have become a life and executive coach. Life coaching is all about you as a person and executive coaching Is all about you at work. I particularly like working with new or middle managers whom I think can have a tough time.
